Back In Lockdown

That’s Scotland back in lockdown (or as close to lockdown as the govt dares to go)

The office is closing again so I’ll be back to full time working from home.

I’m actually a bit relieved.

It's somehow a lot simpler when the whole country is on lockdown and we all know what we are doing.

I am definitely relieved! My Middle Layer Super Output Area (don't you just love these names, I mean, what the heck does that mean anyway) is dark purple, it doesn't get any worse than that according to the Government's Interactive Map. So I'm just glad that they've made the decision.

Our village school had the virus just before Christmas so many families were having to isolate, I just hope they all did and none did something stupid like meet up with anyone else! It's a little scary knowing that we have it il the village, it makes me want to stay away from the village shop just in case, but at the same time I want to shop there any give them my support as they've been wonderful throughout the pandemic.

I was in the local pharmacy - which is in a neighbouring village - last week picking up my mothers prescription when I realised that the young man at the counter was picking up stuff for his family as they had the virus! It's the unknown of wondering how much interaction he has with them, does he live in the same house, etc! When he went, the cashier moved to another till and served the next person there (it's only a tiny place with three people max allowed in at any one time) while she was serving the man in front of me the pharmacy assistant came down with a packet of anti-pac wipes and wiped the counter, screen, etc, down. Clearly they weren't taking any chances. At least he was wearing a mask!

The good news is that my mother did get her second vaccine! Right up until the time we arrived at the hospital I was on tenterhooks just waiting for a call to cancel it, as I know some people have had their second vaccine cancelled, luckily she has had hers so that takes a little worry of my mind.

Let's just hope everyone complies with our new guidelines so we can get this r-rate down again.
