The headcold that set in last Friday was mostly cleared up by Wednesday this week and I’m very happy to report that I’m feeling so much better now. Unfortunately George seems to have come down with it again, it’s a viscious circle! Even more unfortunately, my being so ill on Sunday last week meant that I forgot to do my DuoLingo and I lost my 187 day streak. Gutted!

Work was ok. Busy but ok. After saying last week that I feel like I need to start looking for something more senior my boss confirmed to me that they were definitely going to be creating a second manager post. I’m 91% sure I would get it if I applied but I’m also only about 91% sure I would want to apply for it. It’s not imminent so I’ve got a bit of time to decide. There’s a finance job going in another housing association near to us, it would be a step down for me but a deserved step up for a lot of my colleagues and I know at least three of them have applied for it. That’ll certainly be interesting to see what happens if one of them gets it!

In more serious, adult news, we finally replaced our hoover today after our old one broke two weeks ago and I’m currently marvelling over how much better my carpet looks, lol. We had actually thought the carpet was on its last legs but this new hoover has really brought the pile back to life. Isn’t is strange, the things you get excited about at 35?

Saturday morning was my appointment at the tattoo studio to get my Stargate tattoo touched up. It looks so much better and I’m really hoping I don’t have trouble with the ink lifting as it heals again. He did say that I bled much more heavily than most people do which could be why I had trouble the first time. I don’t know if healing is different from a touch up than a brand new tattoo but 36h into the first go around my skin was very red and hot to the touch but 36h Into the touch up and you could barely tell that I’d had anything done. I’m hopeful this one will heal better!

We went to see Captain Marvel today and it was fantastic. Empowering, Touching and Kick Ass. I’m very excited for Endgame. (also super excited for Shazam which we saw the latest trailer for before Captain Marvel, it looks like it will be amazing!).

Anyway, I’m off to go and hoover upstairs and see what this new hoover does for the carpets up there. Higher, Further, Faster!

I was talking to my sister in law the other day about how weird it is when we get excited over adult stuff. Most days I barely feel like an adult, and yet there I was, bouncing around because my brother and sister in law got a stove, washer, and dryer.

I’m sorry to hear that George is under the weather again. I think we just recirculate the ‘ick’ until hot weather burns it out of us.
New job prospects are always such a gamble, I hope things will come out right for you.
My mom always toyed with the idea of becoming a legal secretary, but she stayed in her position at the local community college her entire career.

I think it’s a little funny how we get about our home things as we get older. My 4th son who bought his 1st house last year texted me recently of a picture of his new refrigerator and said, “ I don’t know if y’’all think new appliances are sexy...” and I responded with “heck yeah!” But we discovered many years ago that we really aren’t carpet people so we tore most of the carpet out and replaced with hardwood flooring. In the cabin now, there is carpet in only one room, but I I had to get a carpet cleaner just for that.
