I’m craving tears

I know it’s pretty OOC for both of them but I’m full on craving crying Rodney or John right now.

I just have this one scene in my head where, after losing another member of the science team, John stumbles upon Rodney sitting on the floor in a random lab, his knees bent, head slumped, just silently falling apart. And of course John wouldn’t know what to do. He would want to leave but know he shouldn’t and so he’d lock the door behind him with a thought, sit down opposite Rodney, leaning against the opposite wall and just be there. No words of comfort, no judgement, just be there.

And when Rodney finished, when he pulled himself together, John would stand up, offer Rodney a hand, pull him up and then they would leave, without saying a word. They would walk along the corridor together until they reached a cross roads and then John would reach over and squeeze Rodney’s shoulder and then they would part.

I need this to be canon so bad.

I'm trying to think of fics where John and/or Rodney cries, and I just...can't? I know for a fact I've read at least a couple, but damned if I can remember what tehy were. I think fandom as a whole went "John and Rodney aren't criers" and rarely wrote it. And I mean, neither is really overly emotional in that way, so I get it, but. I kind of want it now too lol.

I'm pretty sure "Sandstorm" by Mithreon (if that's how her name is spelled) had some major crying, but at the end after some major angst and a lot of hurt without comfort.

I'm away on vacation and don't have my normal computer... if you can locate that for us, that would be cool!

God, I love Sandstorms. When I want intense Rodney whump, that's where I go lol.

If Popkin doesn't have any crying fic for you, then there won't be a lot out there! ;-)

The only one I can think of is "Sandstorm" by Mithreon (I think that's how it's spelled)... there are some major tears at the end but getting there is an angst-fest. Not for the faint of heart.
