In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom.
Fandom in specific: Hopefully a new social media platform that replicates at least some of the Tumblr experience. I miss tumblr. I'm having a blast on here but it's a very different experience and I want all the gifs and memes in with the rest!
I'd also like to see more importing of old archives into AO3. Losing all the amazing stories on Area 52 was a (ok, admittedly first world) tragedy.
And, drumroll please, for SGA in particular: the future will include a NEW FANWORK CHALLENGE!

A big thank you toseleneheart for making our first banner! This was part of my wish list for the snowflake and it was filled beautifully!
Please head over there to check it out! We're gonna run the challenge from March - June (to let everyone get their Romancing McShep and romancing SGA fills done first). All types of fanworks are welcome, all we ask is that you get your inspiration from the movies. I'm excited to co-run my first comm and I hope that we get some amazing fanworks out of it!

Date: 2019-01-15 08:52 am (UTC)I have seen gifs used in icons -- I have a couple -- and pasted into posts. Memes are usually done as images pasted into posts. DW is not as easy on these as Tumblr was, but it can be made to work if these are things you love. Doubtless you would please other Tumblr refugees if you choose to post them.
