I’ve had three anonymous tumblr messages in two days telling me that I’m a crap writer and I should stop inflicting my writing on the world.

Aren’t people wonderful?

I mean, I’m sure it’s just one person (I certainly hope so) but it’s getting me down. Which I know is stupid. But, hey, logic and sense only gets you so far before your emotional responses take over.

I’m trying not to let it affect me but I’m also really not in the mood to write anything tonight and I don’t know if that’s just a general “not in a creative mood” or if the anon has actually won (for now).

I am sorry and so angry on your behalf. People who post mean, hurtful things anonymously are despicable. Despicable cowards hiding behind their anonymity so they can be as “brave” and horrid as they want. I know it’s terribly hard to not let it bother you. I wish I had advice for you. But know your friends love you and your writing. Your work has inspired at least 3 art projects from me. I love your writing, some of my favorite stories are yours. Right up there with Jane Austen and Tolkien.

Ugh. Stupid people. So easy to sit back and feel superior to someone else when they can hide behind their monitor. You know what I've found with the people who leave me nasty fic comments? They don't write. I always say, "You don't like what's here, write something you'd like better."

I think you're a wonderful writer and I always get excited when I see a new post go up on AO3. ::hugs:: Suck it, haters!
