2018: 35-17
Sep. 2nd, 2018 05:55 pmThis week has absolutely flown by in the way that the last week of holiday before returning to work always does.
Monday/Tuesday we were up at the same farm we went to last week, this time for a two night stay. Despite the constant streams of wasps and Daddy Long Legs that kept finding their way in the cabin it was a really relaxing two nights. Lots of baths, lots of time in the hot tub and even a short walk up Balkello Hill to stretch the legs and look at the fields. I’ll definitely be booking to stay at this place again. (Side note, I was looking through the guest book and saw a comment from a woman who claimed she’d been surprised by a night there as a first date! Is that not creepy as hell? I’m glad I don’t have to date anymore.)
We went through to Perth again on Wednesday and had a walk around the Rodney Gardens. Yes, really. I was tickled at their name, no lie. They were really pretty but my back was playing up again so we cut the trip short and headed home for more Deep Heat applications.
Thursday was supposed to be a day trip to the National Museum of Flight which is about two hours south of us. I put the post code into the satnav and we headed off. Before we’d got on to the main road out of the city I noticed that our estimated time of arrival had just doubled so we pulled over and checked the traffic website to find out that there had been a massive car accident on the road we need to take. Thankfully no deaths. So we changed direction and headed up to Montrose where there is a teeny tiny Air Heritage Musuem. It was a gorgeous day though and we had a good time. The whole place is staffed by volunteers who really love what they do.
Friday was a quiet day, a little trip to the local botanic gardens and a wee wander around town. Some shopping and errands on Saturday followed by a day of painting some cabinets today and that’s the holiday pretty much done. I’ll miss spending so much time with George when we both go back to work next week.
I’m still plugging through my h/c Bingo Card and got another fill done. I’ve mapped out the next fill which I’ll hopefully find time to do next week. No progress on sgareversebang fic #1 but I’m not worried yet. I have a mapped out plan for sgareversebang fic #2 so that’s something. I’ve also just remembered that I signed up for the fandomgiftbox exchange which is due this month. Whoops, I totally forgot! Still, it’s a 100 word minimum so I can fill a few SGA requests easily. Hopefully....
