2018: 25-27
Jun. 24th, 2018 04:28 pmAaaargh, the trading and friending option is live for Pokemon Go. This is the whole reason I started playing almost a year ago, because George wanted a buddy and it’s finally here. I’m a bit annoyed the trading option can only be done with people in close proximity but if anyone reading this plays and wants the occasional gift from Scotland, my trainer code is 1751 7737 4537!
I made it through the week! And I got everything that I needed to do finished before I left on Friday! And now, relax! (Well, kind of. I do have to go into work on Tuesday evening next week to attend a Board meeting. My boss was supposed to go in my place but her kid has an awards ceremony at the same time so I said I would come in.) I’m so looking forward to having the rest of next week off, it’s been so full on at work that I really need the break!
I’ve been full of the cold all week, I was really hurting on Monday and Tuesday but have been on the uphill climb ever since. Still bunged up but no longer achy and fuzzy which I’m counting as a win.
I ended up spending a stupid amount of money on stuff I don’t need while I was lazily browsing the online shops this week and the guilt set in when it arrived. But screw it, I have the money and I deserve to treat myself every now and again. I’m trying to push the guilt aside but I still feel a bit weird about. I don’t know why but I genuinely don’t mind spending money on others but when it comes to spending it on myself....
Anyway, it was a beautifully sunny day today - apparently we’re in for another heat wave this week- so George and I went for a nice walk, did some pokemoning and then home to watch the football. (God, I hate football).
My week off starts tomorrow with a whole afternoon to myself while George goes to the pub with his friends. Looking forward to hopefully getting a small fic written and maybe even taking a nap!
Round 9 of Hurt/Comfort Bingo started And I already have my card and my first fill done! Bingo cards can sometimes feel a little overwhelming to me because I’m never sure where to start so I asked on tumblr for someone to give me a number between 1and 25 and started there. I think this approach will work well for me, I always feel more motivated when I’m writing something because someone else asked me to so it’s the strategy I’m going to continue with. I have the next 4 fills planned using this method (well, kinda. Kronette picked the wild card space so at some point I’m gonna ask someone for a number between 1 and 200 to pick the prompt for that space). Hoping to get the loss of voice/forced silence square scored off tomorrow! I bet you can guess who that’s going to happen to!

Date: 2018-06-25 01:10 pm (UTC)I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you have a relaxing vacation. Finn plays pokemon. I'll have to look up his trainer code.
Don't felt guilty spending some money on you. I used too, but now not so much. I even buy myself flowers every now and again.

Date: 2018-06-25 01:48 pm (UTC)Holiday good so far. Went for breakfast with George, had a wee wander along the beach (sea breezes are amazing, it's too damn hot here) and I've got the afternoon to myself while he spends time with his mates. I've just wrote fic and now I'm either going to watch a crappy romcom on Netflix or have a nap!
And if you can advocate for me spending money on myself, you should too! Buy yourself some flowers and get as much me time as you can xx

Date: 2018-06-25 01:59 pm (UTC)I'm glad your holiday is going so well so far. It's funny, we say vacation in the U.S. but Amelia's been really into watching Peppa Pig lately and has taken to saying "holiday!" The other day she found a hat and a pair of her days shoes, put them on, and shuffled by saying, "Goodbye Mommy! I'm going on holiday!"
lol
Anywho, the walk on the beach sounds amazing. I love going to the ocean but I don't currently live anywhere near one. I do live close to some large laks (one might even say Great) and they have beaches, with sand even! But they lack the salt air and water so it's not exactly the same.

Date: 2018-06-25 02:03 pm (UTC)I love that Amelia is learning Brit-isms from Peppa Pig! George is always rolling his eyes at my Americanisms (all picked up from TV) and it's cool to see it goes the other way too!
