Work continues to be insane but that’s the first of our year end audits done and dusted; only seven more to go. It’s been so full on so this week has been pretty nondescript. Wake up, go to work, come home, bed. I haven’t had the energy for much else. I’ve watched both seasons of One Day At A Time on Netflix over the past week and a half. It’s such a warm show, I cried as much as I laughed and would really recommend it.

George and I went to see Infinity War today. Marvel movies seem to be the only time we get to the cinema these days. It’s so bloody expensive. I’d really been looking forward to it but I found myself a bit underwhelmed by it all. Although it’ll be interesting to see how the Russo brothers take it from here!

George’s Birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks so I need to pull myself together and find the energy to plan something. His presents are already taken care of (an Old Man Logan figure he wanted and tickets to see Brian Wilson do Pet Sounds in Edinburgh in August) but I want to do something really nice. He’s having a bad time at work and he deserves the best.

Nothing to update. I did do some writing but nothing came of it. I keep getting distracted by my cycling idea which probably means that I need to actually start writing it.

I remember one particular job that I was constantly exhausted from. I’m glad it won’t last too much longer for you. And I’m sorry to hear that George is still having a rough time at his work. I hope you can figure out something special for him. I really, really suck at gift giving. I’m getting somewhat better, especially now that I can do like 99% of it online. While we were still in Washington DC, I got the bright idea of giving my kids and their partners iPads. I saved for 8 months and still had to put some of it on a card, but at least I didn’t have to go out shopping. There were 2 daughter-in-laws that already had an iPad, so I didn’t go completely broke. My oldest son and his wife thought they were going to get one to share and were so pleased and touched that they each got one. For 2 kids birthdays this year, I bought a “celebration in a box” birthday cake that even came with a candle, balloons , confetti and assorted treats of my own choosing. It was a really big hit for both of them.

Well, I’ll quit yammering now.
