I missed the Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper A Star Is Born at the cinema so I only got round to watching it this week and WOW! It destroyed me. Beautifully, beautifully done. I’ve never seen the original but the Garland and Streisand versions are two of my favourite films. This version deserves to share space with them.
What was I reading this week
popkin16 and I were chatting briefly last week and the topic of ‘how much angst is too much angst?’ came up and popkin mentioned Black Helicopters by Whizzy. I read the first part of this a couple of years ago and didnt remember it being that angsty so, of course, I had to reread and then read the rest of the series. I still say it’s not too angsty and I’m urging popkin to read it, lol.
I also caught up on the lastest part of a really excellent SGA gen series, Team Building by LadyShelley
What was I writing this week?
I am struggling with the whole writing thing lately. I’m not short of ideas but I just lack the mental energy to write them. It’s not been this bad in a long time. In an effort to kick myself up the backside I posted the first 1,600 words or so of a fic I’ve been working on. Doing the WIP thing makes me mildly uncomfortable but it’s a necessary evil sometimes!
