2018: 24-28

respoftwIt was a hectic but productive week at work with lots of deadlines and multiple committee papers needing written. I managed to get them all done though so all I need to do is make it through next week and then I’m off an annual leave and the worst of year end is done for another year.
It can’t come soon enough!
I hung out with my sister on Friday after work which was nice. I haven’t seen her in a while (despite living in the same city, I’m so bad at keeping in touch with family) and we went to see Jurassic Workd Fallen Kingdom at the pictures which was fun. Dumb but fun.
Saturday was Pokemon Community Day. It rained almost the entire time so I bowed out early and retreated to the car with a coffee. The hour or so I spent walking about in the pouring rain might have contributed to how awful I feel today.
George has been fighting off a bad cold most of the week. You know that stereotype of man flu and how guys whine and can’t handle the sniffles? Yeah, the roles are reversed in our house and George normally soldiers on without mentioning it while I sniffle and whine and demand looking after. So I knew it must have been bad when George mentioned not feeling well. And, joy of joys, I think I’m coming down with it too. Like almost every cold I pick up, it’s targeted my throat and chest and I’m well into the process of losing my voice. So, y’know, work will be fun.
One more week.
I set myself a personal challenge to write 500 words a day this week and while I don’t think I managed that, I did write every day. It hasn’t come to much, I’ve been darting from idea to idea but I managed to write some more of Three’s Company and I have some good starting paragraphs that I will hopefully pick up and finish another time.
