I feel like I’m living for the weekend lately. Work continues to be hectic and my energy levels are zapped to the point that I just come home and veg out on the couch with either Scrubs on in the background or a fic on my iPad to read. It’s not very exciting.

Next week is shaping up to be awful. I don’t think there’s a single day where I don’t have at least 3 hours of meetings booked in. And, of course, there’s a few deadlines as well.

I have more energy at the weekends and this one has been a good one. George was off Friday night so I met him in town after I finished work and we went out for lunch. It was probably too hot for the lasagna we were both craving but I have no regrets!

On Saturday we had gig number two of the year, The Rolling Stones at Murrayfield Stadium so we drove through to Edinburgh. It was a warm, sunny day so after a bit of shopping we went and hung out under the shade of the Scott monument in Princes Street Gardens until it was time to check into our hotel. The hotel room was ok, absolutely not worth what we paid for it but it was a super busy weekend in Edinburgh with lots on and a premium price had to be paid. Plus, a lot of the price was down to the view. A balcony with a view of Edinburgh castle is pretty spectacular.

So, anyway, we hoofed it the couple of miles to Murrayfield, went to find the seats and discovered that the section we had tickets for was closed off due to obstructed viewing (the lighting rig was in front of it) and we had to go and see a steward to get alternative seats. Of course, they didn’t have any seats together. Sigh.

Managed to sneak on to the pitch for standing but still annoyed about the hassle.

I’m not a fan of The Stones and I think Mick Jagger is one of the most ridiculous humans to ever exist but George thought they were amazing and that’s the important thing!

Didn’t do much today. We left Edinburgh pretty early as the city was about to be taken over by the Processions March which is a recreation Suffragette March for equal rights. It would have been amazing to see and take part in but getting out of Edinburgh is stressful enough without all the road closures so back home it was. It’s been a quiet day of catching up on chores but it’s always nice to spend a Sunday with George when he’s not coming off five night shifts in a row.

I failed as a fic writer this week with zero words written. I think I’m going to set myself some goals for the coming week. 500 words a day sounds doable.
