respoftwAfter losing the plot over some banking issues last Saturday, I was plagued with even more this week, culminating in all my accounts being frozen over suspected fraud.
I’m pleased to say I handled it without falling apart again but it took the best part of three days to get fixed and I think I spent something like eight hours total on hold trying to get it sorted. Thankfully it’s all working again but the really galling thing is that noone can tell me why the fraud flag was raised, it looks to be another bug. Needless to say, Ive now started the process to switch banks.
Work went a bit better this week, despite having to take some time off to,try and sort the banking thing. I worked late a few nights to make up the time. I hate working late but the lack of other staff to distract you with queries and requests for help....I can see why some people prefer to do it. I’m where I need to be with everything though so that’s good.
I had a good day with George today with plenty of beer and laughs.
So, yeah, there were goods and bands this week but they’re all eclipsed by the fact that this is the week that Scott Hutchinson died.
I’d never cried over the death of a musician before but this one has really hit me hard. Frightened Rabbit are one of my favourite bands of all time and their music, particularly Scott’s lyrics, have helped me through some of my darkest times. The outpouring of similar sentiments from fans all over the world and the fact that he ultimately wasn’t able to help himself has left me heartbroken.
I really believed that he would turn up safe and when the news broke on Friday morning it left me in tears.
I hope he’s been able to find some peace.
Zero writing done because my evenings were either spent on hold with the bank, working late to make up the hours I spent in the branch of the bank, or crying over my Frightened Rabbit albums.
