2018: 15-37
Apr. 15th, 2018 05:14 pm Work continues to be a source of much stress. We’re just not where we should be at this point in time but I really need to sit down with my boss to hash out a plan and she’s been snowed under catching up on the past three weeks that she’s missed due to a death in the family. We have a meeting set up for 9am tomorrow so fingers crossed we get some sort of plan together. It’s like the blind leading the blind though. God, I really hope J comes back from maternity leave like she’s planned!
My weekend was a great chance to de stress though. George got asked last week to work Monday which is one of his usual nights off and he got Saturday night off in its place. This weekend was Edinburgh Comic Con which we had decided to miss on the Sunday as it clashed with Pokemon Community Day. George’s swapped shifts meant we could go to the Saturday part of the comic con and still take part in the Pokemon event so we decided to make a weekend of it and stay over.
The con was good, we got a lot of comic art (which I left sitting on a bench outside the venue at one point but thank goodness it was still there when I realised my mistake 5 minutes later) and it’s always fun to look at the costumes of all the cosplayers. I have a love/hate relationship with cosplayers. I love how creative they can be and admire the work that they put in but when they go to a con with no objective but to prance about, get in peoples way and not actually support the artists and creators there....my patience for them wears thin. After the con, we had a nice meal and an early night in the hotel. I paid extra to make sure there was a bath in the room which we both made use of. I really must see about remodelling our own bathroom so we can fit a soaker tub in there!
Pokemon wise, the featured Pokemon this Community Day was Mareep. I ended up with three shiny ones which is one more than George. Again! He pouted again. Still don’t have a Ditto but I’m making progress on my magikarp candies and now have 275 out of the 400 I need.
I got very little writing done this week but I managed to post a short fic after digging through my WIP folder. I hope to find more time to write next week.
