respoftwI’ve made a concentrated effort this week to concentrate on self care, focusing on cutting my stress and doing things that make me happy and am feeling much more positive as a result. I’ve let myself indulge in my favourite fic and favourite movies and TV shows without the pressure of worrying about anything else and it’s really helped. It’s made for a pretty uneventful week though!
Some good news; I DID get that pay rise my boss mentioned a while ago. It’ll be paid in my March salary and backdated to last month. It’s 10% more money for 60% more hassle but I’m looking forward to the challenge and, if it sucks, it’s only for the rest of the year. I can handle that.
It was George and I’s first music gig of the year last night. Frightened Rabbit at the O2 Academy in Glasgow. They were much harder live than they are on record but it was a great night. I also got to indulge in a fancy hotel room which goes back to the self care thing!
I’ve been a very passive fan girl this week, mainly rereading old favourites. I know that there’s been a few new fics in the McShep feed on AO3 and I’m really behind on reading them. I must catch up!
I managed to get another chapter of Three’s Company written. I’m enjoying that series a lot and the episode coda format is nice and easy to dip in and out of. On the horizon, I have a sub!Rodney fic that I wanna write for popkin16 and there’s the mpreg challenge at story_works that I want to get something done for.
Hopefully I’ll manage more actual writing and reading of new fic next week!
