respoftwSo, I think I have a temporary promotion at work, picking up a lot of the additional responsibilities that the Finance Manager has while the actual Finance Manager is on maternity leave. Details and formalisation of the offer are still to be forthcoming but it's good for my professional development so I'm hoping it comes to be. (Even if it is 40% more hassle for 10% more money)
George and I bought tickets to see Paul Simon in his (supposedly) farewell tour when they went on sale this week which should be good. I think that's maybe the fifth concert we have lined up this year so far? With the possible promotion I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the days off work which might mean I have to drive to Glasgow and back on the same night. I hate doing that and we usually tend to stay overnight when going to these things but it's set for July so at least it won't be too dark when we're driving back home.
I've spent most of today on the couch with George watching the Winter Olympics. We watched some of the freestyle skiing, curling and ice dancing. Neither of us know anything about the scoring or technical aspects of these but we made up our own rules and points system which was fun.
Note to self: spend less time sitting on the couch watching other people keep fit and healthy and do more of it myself!

romancingmcshep fic is finished at ~6,700 words (I'm getting really good at accurately measuring how long a fic will end up, lol) and will be posted on Valentines Day. I'm not sure what I'm going to tackle next writing wise, there's a lot of ideas and I'm not sure which one will jump to the front of the queue.
One of my goals for 2018 was to try writing a different SGA pairing so I might push my Rodney/Caldwell idea to the front? Not sure anyone would read it though! I also really want to write more Dorian verse fic but I'm waiting for the right idea!
I'm a little worried about how my possible promotion at work might effect my time/energy for writing fic but I'm trying to put that out of my head until I know for sure whether it'll go ahead or not.....I'd miss writing a lot.
I guess we'll see what happens.
