Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 8

In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.

This challenge is much more comfortable than yesterday's! I pretty much fell in love with Stargate Atlantis from the moment I heard Carson Beckett's accent but my favourite episode is from the final season.

What can be said about 'The Shrine' that hasn't already been said? It's a beautifully done episode and EVERYONE brought their A game acting to it. Most especially Joe Flanigan who just seemed an inch away from breaking down throughout the entire episode. It punches me in the stomach with feels every time I watch it and anyone who can come away from this episode without shipping McShep is a stronger person than I.

I almost went with The Shrine, but I knew someone else would cover it for me. ::grins:: OMGosh, so many feels. And yeah, that tacked on McKeller bit at the end was so out of left field, because the entire ep was about Rodney and John. DHew and JFlan both did an amazing job.

You pair that with The Last Man and tell me these boys don't have some powerful love for each other. You can't! It's impossible!

*raises hand* I managed it ;D but I’m a hardcore Gen fan, my brain is just wired that way.

But The Shrine remains a superb piece of tv. The performances are so strong, the solution satisfying and the relationships a joy to watch, however you parse them. Love it, so much <3
