Still no update on the possible promotion at work. I'm starting to think I imagined the whole conversation!
Work was pretty challenging this week. We've had an ongoing cash flow issue with one of our subsidiaries, not because they are struggling financially but because the staff are far too lax about invoicing out completed work timely. It's been an issue for a while but with a new Head of Company in post it's all coming to a head. A lot of the blame has been getting heaped on the admin staff whose job it is to do the invoicing but having worked with them in the issue in the past I know that a lot of the issues stem from manager level with information on completed contracts not getting passed to the admin team. I raised this point when the new Head asked me to have yet another meeting with the admin staff, detailing a couple of recent issues that started at manager level. Of course, new Head then forwards this email on to the managers involved who are apparently now complaining that I'm persecuting them.
Ugh.
This weekend has been good. I've started watching Star Trek Discovery and am really enjoying it. George and I went out for breakfast today after he finished work and then headed out to the cinema so I could finally see The Shape of Water! It was a beautiful, magical film (and I'm not just saying that because it had David Hewlett in it ;))

romancingmcshep fic and managed to get something written for the latest whatif_au challenge so that's positive.
I'm struggling to come up with an idea for the Februaryhc_bingo challenge. I think I might have to write that one off. C'est la vie I suppose.
Still not sure what to tackle next. There's only about six or seven weeks before the year end craze at work starts which isn't enough time to start on my longer ideas without leaving them in limbo when the crazy starts. I might concentrate on getting some shorter pieces written, maybe look at my trope Bingo card again?
I'm currently waiting on inspiration so if you have any spare, through it my way!
